Multiple Teams · Warrior Volleyball Team is State Bound

The Warrior Volleyball Team punched their ticket to State by winning the Caston Semi-State on Saturday.  The Warriors dominated the first match by sweeping Lafayette Central Catholic 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.  LCC defeated WD last year in the Semi-State Championship match to end their tournament run.

This set up a Championship match that evening vs Pioneer. Pioneer jumped out early to take a 1-0 lead by defeating the Warriors 20-25.  Wes-Del stormed back in the 2nd set winning 25-14.  With the match tied 1-1, Pioneer responded by winning the 3rd set 18-25. With their back against the wall and facing elimination, the Warriors rallied to win the 4th set after being down 4 points 25-17.  This set up a do or die 5th set.  The set went back and forth until the score was 10-10.  The Lady Warriors then flexed their muscle and rallied off 5 straight points to win 15-10.  We are so proud of this team and how they fought through adversity to bring the Semi-State title back to Warrior Nation!  We wish them luck as they face Christian Academy on Saturday at Worthen Arena with a start time of 11:07.
