The varsity girls track and field team defeated Lapel and Liberty Christian at home Tuesday. Several individuals earned first place finishes in their respective events. Freshman Kylie Antrim was a multiple winner taking honors in the high jump and long jump competitions. Junior Allison Wylie was also a multiple winner for Wes-Del. Wylie finished first in the 100 and 300 meter hurdle races. Freshman Jaci Knott was victorious in the 800 meter race.
Wes-Del came away with victories in the 400 and 1600 meter relays. The 4X100 meter relay team consisted of Antrim, Wylie, Reece Malchow, and Grace Bond. The 4X400 relay team included Antrim, Knott, Natalie Richards, and Kamryn McGlothin. Kristen King was second in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Jalynn Gann placed second in the long jump. Knott was also runner-up in the 1600 meter run. Natalie Richards had a strong effort in the 400 meter dash, finishing second in a close race. Aubrey Whitesell was second in the Shot Put. Sisters Andrea and Alyssa Stoughton teamed up with sisters Samara and Destiney Smith to record a second place finish in the 3200 meter relay. Other top four performances for the Warriors: Reece Malchow (100m), Aubrey Whitesel (Discus), Bond and Samara Smith (Long Jump), McGlothin (400m, 800m), Kyann Newsome (Shot Put), and Richards (200m).
